For a single second, Erxecs Rylga felt hesitation as he woke. After that second, he then mentally assured himself that he needed to do his duty as he swiped away the covers on his side of the bed that his wife Aril also laid in, suprised that he was still not woozy from the love he indluged with her in the night that just passed. He then quickly put on his underclothes and headed toward the kitchen, mentally reviewing and re-reviewing his tasks of the day. Aril, having felt movement in the bed, rolled over, stretching and yawning as she sat up. She could feel that her body was tired from the night before as she slipped out of bed, thinking about her husband. She grabbed her house coat and slipped it on before walking out to find him. He was just starting to pour his cereal when he noticed Aril walking  through the house.
"Morning, my sweet!" He greeted her chipperly. She looked over at him and smiled. "good morning dear... " She walked over and sat down at the table, fixated on him and something else that made her...uneasy about this morning. "Did you sleep well?" She asked before she kissed his cheek. He smirked blissfully as he filled the bowl.
"Surprisingly well." He replied calmly. "It's only fitting that I made the most of last night in two ways." He replied with a hint of cheekiness. She blushed and giggled happily. "what was the second way?" She asked as she stood to make coffee.
"You know!" He said playfully after he took his first bite of his morning meal. "I swear that after that, I wouldn't have been able to stand up on my own two legs if I wanted to!" He added, laughing a little. She blushed brighter, starting the coffee.
"I.. am admittedly sore." Even with her husband it embarrassed her to talk about such things. But... she knew he liked her embarrassment.
"Don't worry, I'll remember to be softer when I come back." He assured her soothingly. She couldn't help but giggle to herself.
"I wish I could come along.... it's.. not as if they have much need for me here.. ill be taking leave anyways.."
"And I hope you enjoy every last minute of that leave, Aril." He quietly uttered to her before finishing his cereal and stroking her shoulders as he put the bowl away. She smiled up at him, yet bit her lips not knowing whether or not to tell him about the reason for her leave; the child she was nurturing within her own waist. "I'll have no time for the rest of the morning meal, before you ask; I packed up my items before our gorgeous night and I've no time to lose." He stated seriously whilst he headed back into the bedroom, though still in a low, quiet tone so as to not make her too nervous too quickly.
"O-oh.. right.." she followed after him. "When do you have to leave?" She asked, hand on her stomach, it was nervously churning. Should she? Would it upset him? I shouldn't, she thought; he would want to stay.
"They informed me that the transport will arrive here in 'the morning'. I guess they left exactly when to my own trained intuition." He replied as he fitted on his uniform trousers, specially tailored due to him being one of few ancient Chaboxi. Then he noticed Aril looking under pressure. "Dear, what's wrong?" He asked her sympathetically, striding toward her as if she was to fall at any moment. She looked to the floor, unable to speak the confession nestled in her throat. "Nothing... i-if I told you.. you wouldn't go...." she swallowed hard.
"I am so sorry Aril...but no matter what you tell me, I need to go." He assured her whilst hugging her with his right arm. "I wouldn't want anything more than to stay here with you, but Colonel Tyo himself has commended me and my raiders for his mission. I can't let him down, but I promise; I won't let you down either." He added strongly and with a light kiss on her forehead. She leaned against him, feeling her moral foundations crumbling with each word;
"T-then..." she swallowed hard. "I took leave because I'm pregnant..." she whispered faintly.
"You...?" He paused, taking this sudden news in. He looked at her, though with his eyes blank as he phased through shock, fear and joy all at once. Never in his whole life was he taken off-guard so suddenly. He silently went over to his case and proceeded to put on his uniform shirt, unsure of what to say until he fastened the buttons on his straight-ironed, medal-and-stripe-adorned symbol of authority. "Wow, that's...that's wonderful news! Though...I still need to do my duty, so...I hope you're okay with looking after our child on your own." He stumbled through his words as he finally recognised a new child being an important step for the prosperity of the Rylga family name. He realised he things he could teach the child and how he or she would look up to him...he just did not forsee when it would finally happen. She started at him as he wavered through his actions and words.
"Y-you think so?" She asked, hand on her belly. Her heart raced in nervousness; he had no idea how long he would be gone, for she only wanted him here. She hadn't planned on a child quite yet, despite her sudden excitement for the baby.
"I confidently think so." He replied whilst he hurriedly prepared the rest of his uniform, including his personal officer's cap which in its construction seemed to drape over his nervous, yet excited cranium. "You've handled some tough cases in your agent job, I'm sure of it. You'll easily be able to go through this when you're given something so dear and close to you." He added comfortingly as he paced up to her smartly, fully-dressed and standing straight. "Now, how do I look?" He asked her, hoping for her to be calmed by his hospitality.
She hugged him tightly, falling against him. "Wonderful...and so handsome."
"Thank you. No promotion or payrise would ever be as flattering as your tender words, my darling." He uttered softly, slowly reaching his hand up to her face before a blaring, digital tone souned from outside the house, rushing him to plant a kiss on her cheek before sprinting to the door. She twirled as he moved to the door, watching him and being forced to let go of his coat as he left her arms, " I-I love you! be safe!" she instinctively hurried to follow him.
"Of course I will be! Anything for you and our new child, darling!" He promised before shutting the door behind him. He only shut it carefully, but it felt like a heavy iron door slamming behind him, only to ever open again upon him returning from his mission, and with the sight of his child as a cherished reward. Though this though lingered for days after, he at the moment put himself into his original mindset; a strict military doctorine of orders to be obeyed and aliens to kill with not a trace of mercy. But just what would the young, yet ambitious Colonel he heard about several times before have in store for him?

She saw and heard the door slam shut in front of her, and she sunk to the ground, "...I love you..." she whispered to herself, filling in the words he forgot to say during his haste. She sniffled to herself, hugging her legs, not knowing what to do with herself...or even what she would do at all. He was a huge part of her life and without him at home...she felt empty, even with her child slowly forming within her.
By the way, I foreshortened 'Character BackStory' to the abbreviation on the title because of the limited title space. Oh well, I hope you enjoy my first roper attempt at romantic dialogue and a quick peep into the more private life of my Chaboxi OC before the events of the group RP!
